Golden Heart Charity Fund brings Tet to more than 500 poor patients

On February 11, the Golden Heart Charity Fund in coordination with the Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation organized the program "Contributing Tet to help poor patients Spring 2026", giving Tet gifts to 500 patients in difficult circumstances who are being treated for a long time at hospitals in the province.

Accordingly, patients at Khanh Hoa General Hospital, Dermatology Hospital, Lung Hospital and Khanh Hoa Specialized Mental Hospital were personally given meaningful Spring gifts.

Specifically at Khanh Hoa General Hospital, the program awarded 250 gifts including rice, fish sauce, bird's nest cake, candy, milk... to patients in three departments. Among them, there are 100 gifts for patients with chronic kidney disease being treated at the Artificial Kidney Unit and the Intensive Care - Anti-Poisoning Department.

Doctor Nguyen Luong Ky - Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa General Hospital said that the hospital is currently treating nearly 400 patients with chronic kidney disease, most of whom are in difficult circumstances and require long-term treatment at high costs.

Moved when receiving Tet gifts, Mr. Phan Van Dung (53 years old, residing in Tu Bong commune) shared that he is the main breadwinner in a large family. Since being diagnosed with the disease, he has had to be hospitalized for treatment regularly, causing his economy to become increasingly exhausted.

“Every month I go to the hospital to get medicine once and then go home for self-treatment. Many patients in Van Ninh have to rent cars together to reduce travel costs.

Tet has arrived and nothing has been prepared, so the gifts of rice, fish sauce, cakes, and candies at this time are really precious," Mr. Dung expressed.

Bringing compassionate Tet to lonely patients

Attached to the hospital for more than 20 years, Ms. Pham Thi Lan (from Da Nang) emotionally shared: "The hospital is like my second home.

For many years, I have celebrated Tet with patients. Thanks to the care of the Golden Heart Charity Fund and philanthropists, the spring atmosphere here is warmer.

This year, Khanh Hoa Lung Hospital for the first time welcomed the Tet gift giving program for poor patients. The organizing committee presented 50 gifts including rice, fish sauce, cakes, bird's nest drink, ginseng candy, cough medicine... directly to patients.

According to Ms. Dinh Thi Ngoc Hue - Chairwoman of the hospital's grassroots trade union, most patients are poor workers. The hospital has 100 beds, located in remote areas, so it receives little social support.

The hospital maintains a charity kitchen with about 20–30 meals per day for the most difficult patients. This Tet holiday, it is expected that 50–60 patients will stay for treatment, so the Spring gifts are very meaningful," Ms. Hue said.

At Khanh Hoa Specialized Psychiatric Hospital, after the flood in November 2025 caused the hospital to be flooded more than 1.5m deep, medical staff and patients made efforts to overcome it to soon stabilize operations. Mr. Nguyen Anh Chuong - Deputy Director of the hospital said that by Tet, the number of families coming to pick up patients to go home is still small.

It is expected that more than 100 patients will stay in the hospital during Tet. The gifts of the program will be divided equally among doctors and nurses among patients during the spring days, so that everyone can celebrate Tet fully," Mr. Chuong said.

Meanwhile, at Khanh Hoa Dermatology Hospital, which was deeply flooded after the November 2025 flood, the campus is now filled with yellow apricot blossoms.

More than 30 leprosy patients treated as inpatients for many years and nearly 70 outpatients were excited to receive meaningful Tet gifts from the program.
