Phu Tho Social Insurance points out a series of businesses owing billions of VND

On May 31, information from Phu Tho Provincial Social Insurance (BHXH), as of the end of May 27, there were 55 units and businesses in the province that were late in paying social insurance (BHXH), health insurance (BHYT) and unemployment insurance (BHTN) for 6 months, with debts of 20 million VND or more.

According to the list announced by Phu Tho Provincial Social Insurance, many units are owing insurance with large amounts, lasting for many months, directly affecting the rights of employees.

Leading the list is Viet Vuong Joint Stock Company with a late payment amount of more than 3 billion VND, related to 143 employees and lasting 13 months.

Next is Song Hong Professional Technical Secondary School, which owes more than 1.67 billion VND in 17 months. In addition, many other businesses also recorded debts of hundreds of millions of VND, even lasting from 4 to 7 years.

Phu Tho Provincial Social Insurance said that it had previously issued documents to units that were late in paying to urge the implementation of social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance and occupational accident and disease insurance obligations for employees.

According to the Social Insurance agency, late payment or non-payment of compulsory insurance types is a prohibited act according to the provisions of the 2024 Law on Social Insurance and the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2024 Law on Health Insurance.

According to Decree No. 274/2025/ND-CP, from November 30, 2025, units that are late or evade insurance payments must pay an additional amount equal to 0.03% per day calculated on the amount and time of late payment.

The Social Insurance Agency requests units to urgently fulfill financial obligations to insurance funds to ensure the legitimate rights of employees.

In case of not implementing or continuing to delay, functional agencies will publicize the unit's information in the media, and at the same time conduct specialized inspections and handle violations according to regulations.

Over the past time, Phu Tho Provincial Social Insurance has strengthened measures to urge the recovery of insurance debts by closely monitoring the operating situation of each unit, coordinating with relevant agencies to inspect cases of intentional late payment.
