PV Power aims to become a prestigious electric vehicle charging station supplier nationwide
Aiming to expand scale and business operations, Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation - JSC (PV Power) is researching and investing in the construction of the first pilot electric vehicle charging station.
Currently, the Government is encouraging and setting goals for the conversion plan from fossil-energy motor vehicles to electric vehicles. People's demand for electric cars in the coming time will increase and aim to use 100% electric cars. Therefore, to ensure smooth traffic, ensuring the need to use electricity for charging is the first thing to do and in parallel with the increase in demand for electric vehicles.
In addition, when the infrastructure of electric vehicle charging stations is more developed, it will also open up opportunities for foreign electric vehicle manufacturers to boldly invest in Vietnam, promote diversity, demand for use and towards the common goal of the Government. In Vietnam, if not counting stations that only serve VinFast vehicles, the electric vehicle charging station system is still quite "thin", while the demand for this type of vehicle is increasing.
With the role and responsibility of an enterprise operating in the field of electricity industry, PV Power also determines the investment, construction and supply of charging stations for electric cars will open up new business opportunities for businesses as well as in accordance with the development strategy of PV Power in the coming period. At the same time, the construction of pilot charging stations is the first step to be taken to further targets than expanding the number, location and capacity nationwide.

Therefore, PV Power has signed a Cooperation Agreement with EN technologies Inc. to research and develop a charging station system in Vietnam. Accordingly, PV Power will be responsible for finding station locations, providing accompanying technical infrastructure including input power supply, providing all remaining equipment including electricity distribution cabinets, telecommunication cabinets, fire prevention and fighting equipment, camera surveillance systems, construction, installation, site improvement and other costs such as insurance, inspection, procedures and related licenses. After a period of research and evaluation, PV Power decided to deploy the construction of a pilot electric vehicle charging station at 6 Huynh Thuc Khang, Hanoi.
DC fast charging station has a total capacity of 100-120kW. The station area is about 30-35m2. The charging station consists of 2 vertical cabinet charging stations, equipped with 02 charging ports with a capacity of 50 - 60kW/charging port. The charging station is equipped with a display screen, payment via QR code scanning. The construction of charging stations must comply with current regulations, standards and regulations on construction management regulations, quality management, construction supervision, labor safety, environmental sanitation and fire prevention. The total investment cost of the project is about more than 1.8 billion VND.
Electric charging revenue is calculated on estimated charging output and charging unit prices are expected to be divided into 3 unit prices according to low, normal and peak hours. In particular, the average charging price is expected to be about 3,858 VND/kWh, the price is equivalent to the charging station operated by Vinfast and lower than some other units such as Ever Charge, EV One...
After the testing process, PV Power will review and evaluate the overall charging station equipment from the technical technology, operation, safety, customer's use assessment, and charging station efficiency to make specific and appropriate adjustments to bring high efficiency to the project.
Through the construction of the pilot charging station, PV Power will have the basis to develop an investment plan to install and expand the charging station system. By investing in many different pilot charging stations with many capacity levels, many equipment suppliers and adjusting operating solutions will provide experience to optimize investment and operation costs along with a roadmap to bring efficiency to the output problem, which will further shorten the capital recovery time and increase investment efficiency.
The construction of pilot charging stations at this time, PV Power wants the project to bring efficiency as well as construction investment experience. From there, it is possible to optimize solutions, select technology, evaluate costs to apply at the next pilot charging station projects. At the same time, from these pilot projects will also be the basis for assessing the needs and tastes of the user, from which to promote the advantages that the project has made as well as more appropriate adjustments and changes to the market.
With the results obtained through the process of testing and operating electric car charging stations, PV Power will have the most general, most complete and most detailed view of the Diem car charging station in particular, the electric car market in general, to have timely, effective and effective orientations in accordance with the main goal is to open the scale, area, quantity, quality and become one of the reputable electric car charging stations.
